Toyota has been working very hard to ensure its lineup of crossover SUVs are as efficient as possible. To be sure, they have done a great job – but there is always more that can be done. A comparison of the 2021 Toyota Venza vs. 2021 Chevy Blazer will give future buyers a lot to think about. This is one of the tightest comparisons ever completed by the team at Lexington Toyota.
The all-new Venza has shed its wagon body style for a modern crossover SUV design. Early online reviews have praised the 2021 Venza for its incredible fuel economy potential, standard all-wheel-drive and a well-appointed interior that will rival luxury models. Buyers of the 2021 Venza will find a few impressive advantages over its Chevy Blazer competitor.

The 2021 Toyota Venza will get the most of its performance from a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that will be attached to an eight-speed automatic transmission and the Toyota hybrid system. It will produce 219 net horsepower. Base models of the 2021 Chevy Blazer will also employ a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine, making 193 horsepower.
While the actual output of each engine is fairly close, the Venza is able to offer significantly higher fuel economy. Owners of the 2021 Toyota Venza will be able to achieve 40 miles per gallon in the city and 37 miles per gallon on the highway. These fuel economy scores are well ahead of the 21 miles per gallon in the city and 27 miles per gallon on the highway available with the Blazer. The other power plants available with the Blazer may make more power, but that increase in performance will also come with lower fuel economy scores.
The 2021 Toyota Venza and 2021 Chevy Blazer will each offer a standard smartphone-compatible infotainment system that will have access to both the Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ suites of application. However, only the 2021 Venza also offers a Wi-Fi hotspot and compatibility with the Amazon Alexa digital home assistant. Toyota offers a trial data bucket so Venza owners can see if they like the Wi-Fi hotspot.
