Like the rest of the 2018 RAV4 models for sale or lease at Colonial Toyota, the new Adventure trim uses the same naturally aspirated engine. Under the hood sits a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine attached to a six-speed automatic transmission. New drivers may be surprised to see how much they can get from the 176-horsepower engine.
The RAV4 didn't previously have much a reputation for towing capacity – the Adventure changes that. Buyers choosing front-wheel-drive models will be able to pull loads of up to 2,900 pounds. Opting for the all-wheel-drive system will boost that figure to 3,500 pounds. This pulls the 2018 RAV4 Adventure in line with the rest of the industry segment.
While the 2018 Toyota RAV4 Adventure is still one of the more fuel-efficient models in its class, those numbers may fluctuate a little, depending on how its equipped. Those with front-wheel-drive have efficiency estimates of 23 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. Choosing all-wheel-drive drops both of those figures by one mpg each.
