All versions of the 2020 Toyota Avalon, including the new TRD, will use the same powertrain. A 3.5-liter, V-6 engine is attached to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 2020 Avalon will produce 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. The XLE model can achieve 22 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. Limited and TRD models can post the same scores in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.
Toyota has retained the entire menu of connectivity technology for the 2020 iteration of the Avalon. This includes access to the Apple CarPlay® suites of applications that will perfectly combine and enhance the features of a compatible smartphone and the infotainment system. Avalon owners who also have an Apple Watch® can control several features like starting the engine or locking the doors.
