In more than 50 years of production, more than 46 million Toyota Corolla compact sedans have been sold around the world. However, when the 2020 model year gets underway at Colonial Toyota, a new era in the nameplate’s storied history will dawn on customers. The 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid in Milford, CT will be available during the spring of 2019 and will not only by the first Corolla to be equipped with Toyota’s award-winning hybrid technology, it will be among the first to feature a next-generation Hybrid Synergy Drive system. Toyota has been a leader in the hybrid segment of the automotive industry for nearly 20 years. The secret to its success is the Hybrid Synergy Drive system, and in the 2020 Corolla Hybrid it now features a new technology called Hyper-Prime Nickel™ that allows for better battery performance in a lighter package. This new battery technology allows it to be stored under the rear seat of the 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid, instead of taking up valuable space in the trunk like the competition. This has also lowered the vehicle’s center of gravity. In fact, the new hybrid battery system of the 2020 Corolla Hybrid is so powerful, it can propel the compact sedan for short distances or through low-speed environments like parking lots or garages without using a drop of gasoline.
