The Toyota Tacoma has been a leader in its corner of the global automotive segment. While other automakers have left and returned to the midsize pickup truck class, Toyota and the Tacoma have never wavered. For the new model year, the 2021 Toyota Tacoma in Milford, CT will be available in two new trim grades, Trail and Nightshade Edition, standard dual-zone climate controls on some versions as well as upgraded audio systems on the TRD Sport and TRD Off-Road models.
Independent online reviews have had a lot of positive things to say about the 2021 Tacoma and its rugged capability on a variety of road/trail surfaces, streamlined control interface and a cargo bed that is very easy to use in terms of securing payload.

Toyota has remained consistent in offering the same power plant options for the 2021 Tacoma that has been available for a while. The base SR and SR5 trims will be equipped with a naturally aspirated 2.7-liter, four-cylinder engine that will be attached to a six-speed automatic transmission. It will make 159 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. Buyers choosing any of the other models will have a 3.5-liter, V-6 engine under the hood. It can be mated to the six-speed automatic or six-speed manual - depending on which trim grade is chosen. A 2021 Tacoma with a V-6 will produce 278 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque.
Regardless of which of the six trims a 2021 Tacoma customer chooses, they will have two passenger cabin layouts to consider, Access or Double Cab configurations. The Access Cab will be attached to a 6.1-foot cargo bed and the Double Cab may feature a 5- or 6.1-foot cargo box. Additionally, Toyota has made moveable cargo tie-down cleats standard equipment in the 2021 Tacoma. Some trims will also feature an available in-bed cooler (Trail Edition) and/or an available 120-volt power outlet (TRD Sport).
Just because the 2021 Toyota Tacoma is built to get dirty, doesn’t mean it doesn’t offer a lot of brainpower. Every 2021 Tacoma will be outfitted with a smartphone-compatible infotainment system that will be able to access both the Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ suites of applications. Owners will be able to use their Amazon Alexa to perform a lot of functions without having to leave their living room.
